Buy the smallest complete system that can finish a two-car driveway without a mid-job panic. For foam that means a proportioner that holds ratio when the drums run cold, heated hoses if your winters are real, spare gun parts, and a generator that is not dying. For slurry that means a mixer, a pump, hose, and a way to move sand and cement without wrecking your back.
I would not finance a new custom truck in year one. A used van and a liftgate will do. Drills, bits, levels, a rotary laser, and patch material are the unsexy items that actually run the day. Bits die faster than the ads admit.

How should you bid a slab lift job?
Bid from a measured grid, never a glance from the sidewalk. Mark panels. Measure the drop at corners and midspans. Note thickness if you can see an edge. Note soil that is pumping or voided. Note access: hose length, indoor finish, pets, HOA work hours.
Foam is sold by the pound or by the set, then converted to lift. Slurry is sold by the cubic foot of mix. Your bid is material plus labor plus mobilization plus risk. Interior work costs more because of protection and cleanup, not because the chemistry changed overnight.
I would refuse any bid that only says "level the garage" with no elevation notes. Write the target in inches. Color match on patches is a lie if you do not control the mix and the weather. Put that in writing so the argument happens before the check.

Which slabs should you turn down in year one?
